Quick and easy chocolate protein pancakes to start your morning off right! I use chocolate protein powder and pair them with fruit and melted Nutella inspired by Zendaya’s (supposed) favorite breakfast. These are fluffy and decadent, but not too sweet and with an extra pump of protein for those of us who need the gains.
Pancakes Inspired By Zendaya
I read in some random teen pop blog or magazine that Zendaya’s go-to breakfast was pancakes with strawberries and Nutella so this is the recipe I used for my Eating Like Zendaya For 24 Hours video. I decided to make them protein pancakes since Challengers was just released and it seemed appropriate given her training to be like Tashi.
How To Make
Ingredient List
- Half a banana
- An egg
- Around ¼ cup of flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- Cinnamon or pumpkin spice
- 2 tablespoons of milk
- A scoop of protein powder
- And a dash of vanilla
- 2 tablespoon oil
- plain greek yogurt (optional, for garnish)
- chopped strawberries and bananas (or any other fruit of choice)
- Nutella (optional, for garnish)
Steps
Combine the banana, egg, flour, baking powder, spice(s), milk, protein powder, vanilla. Don’t overmix, it’s okay if there are a few clumps.
Heat a large skillet and add the oil. Wait until it starts shimmering before you pour the batter into 3 4-inch pancakes. Flip once they start bubbling and allow them to cook through.
I like my pancakes with a dollop of plain greek yogurt, chopped strawberries and bananas, and some nutella that’s been microwaved for a bit.
